I've made Peace that I'm a NightHawk

Duckies, hello there! I've finally made peace that I'm a major nighthawk.

The "Word of the Week" is:
NightHawk - One who functions efficiently and effectively when the Sun has set; functionally nocturnal creature; Gabriel Anderson.
Ex: "I can never really get into the hustle-and-bustle of the morning. I like doing work at night; I'm a nighthawk!"

It's after 1AM and I am so energized. I am so in love with the mysteries of the moon and routine cloak of darkness. I feel so nefarious.

Speaking of nefarious, I cannot wait to see "Haunting in Connecticut."
I know you've all seen the previews for the movie: they're everywhere and scary as $hit.

I'm scared of it already by the frequent previews leaking into PrimeTime TV trailer-commercials. Wooohuh!
Please don't take my soul, Mr. "Creepy-Tattoo-Possessed" man.
On the note of scary, I forgot to tell you ...MY BLACKBERRY STORM CASE IS BROKEN!
(The phone is fine...but the case is defeated!)

When I was in the city waiting on my train (subway for non-New Yorkers) platform and everyone was looking at me...peon papparzzi!
Anywho, I tried to be debonair and walk to the last train car, entranced to my BlackBerry's playing of Lady Gaga.
I was a few steps away when my BlackBerry fell out my pocket and scattered like legos: the case opened in half (as it usually does), the BlackBerry battery back fell off and one half of the case's corner was broken.
>>>DEVESTATION! I lost about 17 Cool points that day.

But to get my cool points back Rockstar and I are having our weekly radio show:
"Rar-Rar w/ Rockstar and DJ Squiggz" will be on Wednesday night, 9pm to 10pm:
(Any and everyone)
>Listen/watch us at http://wsam.hartford.edu
(On campus ONLY)
>Channel 5 on your TV
>105.3 FM (if you own a radio...wtf? lol)

In other news, I'll be hosting they "Day of Poetry: Poetry Slam" on April 6th!

The Day of Poetry is April 6th! The Poetry slam is going to be at the Hawk's Nest and it starts at 7:30pm!
Immediately afterwards, is an open mic (around 9PMish). This means you can share your work with the world (of Hawk's Nest lol).

Don't be afraid of poetry duckies; poetry is a form of literature, conveying an experience on an elevated level.
(That was sooo deep lol)

On that philosophical note, let's get to some "Words of Wisdom."
"To disassociate yourself from a culture of lackadaisical habits, you must evoke a sense of self-appreciation. Ask yourself if this is worth becoming and if it's affecting you negatively, remove yourself from the situation. Every action has a consequence."

I would like to give credit to Steph Lab who called me a NightHawk tonight: give her a hand. She helped develop the "Word of the Week." Love you girl; congratulations on your successful presentation yesterday!
Graham, I had a marvelous late night snack at Konover. Gossip is so juicy, especially if it's over cookies and sandwiches. Ride or die!
LOL okay duckies, I have some homework to do.
I wish you the best of happiness. Stay true.
Peace, love & Obama,
Gabriel Anderson

God Has a BlackBerry

Hello duckies. I am so tired but I have a life to fulfill, a beautiful one at that. Anywho, I would first like to thank the anonymous commentators of my blog (and the person who prank called me last night).
You duckies have been keeping me on my toes and I have been so entertained for the last couple of days. (Keep it coming duckies!)

Speaking of entertainment Justin and Jordan (two of the infamous J Boys) guest starred on "Rar-Rar w/ Rockstar and DJ Squiggz" last night.
If you've been living under a rock Rockstar and I have a radio and that's the name. It comes on Wednesdays from 9pm to 10pm. (On campus--listen on the radio at 105.3FM, or Channel 5--or everywhere at wsam.hartford.edu). The J Boys come on Sundays from 5 pm to 7pm and they frikking have a website, jboyswsam.webs.com, go check it out!
You should make a habit of tuning into our shows.

Speaking of tuning in, I was at the library (practically all day: 9am-2pm) and I grew incredibly bored after the first hour lol. So I decided to look up the cost of my class ring. Mind you I'm graduating in 2010. My "blinged" out A-list ring (18 KT White Gold, diamond encrusted and other specifications) is gonna cost (my parents)

No worries...they love me lol.

In regards to love, I have fallen in love with the movie "My Best Friend's Girl."
It is such a hilariously crude and fresh movie. A stripper in the movie refers to vaginas as "clamburgers." How funny is that?! Plus is stars Kate Hudson, Dane Cook and Jason Biggs...fabulous casting decisions. (I just finished watching it and I'm pressing play...to watch it again. Precious!)
Enough of today duckies, let's get to some "Words of Wisdom."

"Time's only friend is success. If you decide to wait for something beautiful to come into your life, don't let time be your deciding factor. Take action and bring success into your life today."
OH! I love BBM (BlackBerry Messenger) and I'm sure God has a Blackberry.

God if you have BBM (you don't have to be God to add me to your BBM contacts duckies) and I'm not on your contact list, my BBM pin number is (inquire within.)
(If you duckies send me a virus or anything ridiculous...it will be duck hunting season; I will murder your family! Love you.)

Mike: A little birdie told me you wanted a shout-out. From the brief conversations we've had, I've enjoyed them thoroughly. I'm glad you like my blog. Keep being A-List.
Alyssa: You did a fabulous job today. The glue of the show as usual. You looked so pretty today and I'm glad to see you happy again. I love you.
Lesley: Whenever I see your face I am warmed with love. You are ridiculously adorable and I can't get enough of you.
Francesca BBM: Your precious face reminds me of a pleasant dream because I never want to wake up from reality when I look into your bright eyes.
Lauren: Meow, I love you.
Duckies, my eyelids are starting to droop. I wish you the best of happiness. Stay true. (Happy Thursday!)

Confused Snow

Hey duckies. I am so out of it right now. It's been such a randomly confusing and eventful day. First and foremost I would like to thank every duckie for believing in the snow day.

Today was amazing. I went to bed around 7am; I was up late creating a personal essay, (about the lady who sassed me, about her resistant M&M's). I think it came out really well. I didn't do anything really today. I conversed with my suitemates (it was so fun) and I had the privilege of being on "Notorious Shenanigans and Kontraband."

This phenomenal radio show comes on Mondays from 7PM to 8PM (listen to it online at wsam.hartford.edu--or on campus-- channel 5 or 105.3 FM). Kevin (DJ Skinny) and Tyler (T-Mac) are the best. They even let me go On Air with my dear people-friend Francis. Love you guys.

But you know what I don't love duckies...bisexual men.
Nick (a bisexual male) called me last night as I was writing my personal essay.

The conversation went along these lines:

Me: (sighing) Hello Nick.
Nick: (cheerful) What are you still doing awake?
Me: (taking a sip of Yellowtail) I'm writing a personal essay.
Nick: (saying something for the hell of it) Oh, it's your essay?
Me: (tired, sassy) Evidently if I'm writing it.
Nick: (disregarding the sass) Oh okay...so what's up?
Me: (abrasive) Why are you calling me?
Nick: (pausing) It seems like everyone I've called is sleeping already.
Me: (blunt) Why don't you continue your search.
Nick: (whining) You don't wanna talk to me?
Me: (hanging up) Good night Nick.

Bisexuality aside, it seems as though Nick can't seem to grasp the fact that we are longer and will never be a couple. This sense of confusion reminds me of all bisexual men, (well at least the ones I've dealt with).

I feel as though bisexuality is like being Diet Gay. I know life is hard but being a chameleon of sexuality isn't fair to people. If you're willing to be involved with someone let them no upfront what team you wanna join.

But duckies, in order to be able to let other people know what team you want to join, you have to be able to honestly evaluate what kind of player you are.

Okay duckies, here's some more philosophy. Here are some "Words of Wisdom."

"Never allow yourself to be distracted by attractive distractions. In order to steer clear of frivolity make sure to stay focused on the goal at hand and to efficiently evaluate the significance of distractions. Focus is key to success."

Okay duckies, I am tired from this day of fun and enlightening confusion. Believe in yourself.
I wish you the best of happiness. Stay true.

Gabriel Anderson

My Life, in 3-D

Hello duckies. For someone who can't shut-up about their life, I have no idea what's going to be the central topic of my personal essay...which is due tomorrow! (I really hope it snows!)

No...it will snow; positive affirmations! Anywho, I received a picture text message (from Gabriella) of a new addition to our family.

Her name is Jada (a.k.a. alien, to me). She weights 8lbs and 1 oz. Honestly, she scared me when she was in Joy's (like my 2nd mom) stomach. She would move around so much and toward the end of the pregnancy...you could see her moving. It was gross. It reminded me so much of an alien. Whenever Gabriella and Mom would worship Jada (through Joy's stomach) I would backup into a corner and pray they didn't get attacked lol.

In other news, one of my suitemates thinks he's a rapper and refers to his room as "the studio." Dude thinks he's making music but he's just making noise.

It was cute last semester but now it's just annoying. It's like 1am (right now) and this dude is hardcore rapping. Don't you have homework to do? Or is rapping and annoying your suitemates your homework assignment tonight? Stop sassing me with your "gangsta" $hit!

Speaking of business, The Nest definitely lost business from me today. Recently they've given students the option of door-to-door delivery and many students have taken part in this new treasure. However, I was not pleased. I called the delivery operator (to be put on hold like four times, for her to converse and laugh with her co-workers) and to top it off, she forgot to put my order in!
About forty-five minutes pass by and my food is nowhere in sight. I call The Nest back and a guy picks up, puts my order in and he got my food delivered to me within 5 minutes. (Thank you Mr. Efficient. Screw you Ms. Laughing Hyena!) Anyway, when I did get my buffalo chicken salad, it was just a pile of dry lettuce, sprinkled with tiny pieces of chicken and a little bit of cheese.

They forgot to include the blue cheese I ordered as well but I wasn't going to go over there to complain; that defeats the purpose of door-to-door delivery.

(OMG, my suitemate just started rapping again, WTF?!)

Anywho, for those who read the post before this one, I spoke about my radio show being back on air soon. Well, due to unfortunate circumstances we won't be back on air until further notice.

Yes duckies...I am highly upset and disappointed with the lack of professionalism and promptness of the radio Gods.

Since we're on the topic of "Gods," I'd like to thank the powers-that-be for giving me 20/20 vision. However, I do like wearing glasses; 3-D glasses to be exact.

I think 3-D glasses look so cool but I don't like the lenses so I pop them out and wear the frames. When speaking to my dear friend Rockstar about it he said something insightful, along the lines of:
"Wear them. You can just wear the frames because life is in 3-D anyway."

Rockstar is the Socrates of pop culture. Thank you for putting my life into prospective.

Anywho, let's get to the quote of the day for Jan 28th:

"Life in unpredictable and no one can predict the future. It's up to you to prepare yourself for things to come. However, if you prepare for the worst, the worst will come. Prepare yourself for positivity and your day (and life) will be beautiful."

OH!

Happy B'day Brianna! Today is your day so take it and use it as you please. (If you sass me...this might be your last birthday lol. I love you!)

Okay duckies, I'm growing tired and I have to get this personal essay completed. (Wish me luck!) I wish you the best of happiness. Stay true.

Peace, love & Obama,
Gabriel Anderson

Another One Bites the Sass

I was watching "Legally Blonde" last night because it motivates me to do homework.  However, it doesn't make me blog any faster lol.  Sorry about it being way late today.  Plus, I'm going home for Winter Break on Sunday (finals start next week) so a lot of work needs to be done before I leave.  I have to complete:
  • a brochure
  • proposal (for that brochure)
  • 2 ten page papers on what I learned during the semester
  • a portfolio for my internship
  • an evaluative essay on my other internship
  • a research paper
  • paperwork for my internship with HarperCollins over Winter Break
Most of the assignments are done...but it's still a lot of work.  Everyone is like "Oh my God, I hate you.  You're going home early."  Dude...I wish I had another week to do all this work; at least you get time to complete your assignments.  (Oh!)  My friend Skyler reminded me to mention what I helped him do the other day.  (He told me I forgot to give him a shout-out too lol.)

Skyler's A Cappella group L'Shir (and I) went around dorm-storming (which is basically visit as many people's dorms and ask for donations) to sell raffle tickets for the prizes their offering at their concert tomorrow.  The prizes are an iPod shuffle, a $50 gift basket (which has an iTunes gift card in it as well) and other spectacular keepsakes.  The concert starts at 9pm and is in the North Cafeteria of Gengras Student Union.  Raffles are still being sold so go get some.

(I'm blogging at Gengras right now and this lady just asked me about the McCain/Palin sticker on my laptop.  The conversation went something like this...

Lady: Is that a joke or is that for real?
Me: (laughing) It's a joke.
Lady: (losing the sparkle in her eyes) Aww.  I really like Sarah Palin.  I think she's an awesome person.
Me: OMG, me too!  I think she's hilarious.  She always makes me laugh.
Lady:  (a little saddened) She's such a great person.  She was a school teacher's daughter and look at her now.  She's the governor of Alaska.
Me: (trying not to laugh. smiling...speechless)
Lady: (forces a smile and walks away)

I think I just broke her spirit.  Oh well, another one bites the sass.)

Anywho, this weather is being really whack.  It's fall/winter, why is it raining?  Whenever I think of December I think of falling on my a$$ because my clumsy-a$$ slipped on ice.  I don't think about umbrellas and muddy hills.  Mother Nature, I will kick you in the face if you don't stop playing with my seasonal emotions!  Aside from the weather, I was conversing with my Mom (love her to death) and she was telling me how proud she is of me.  She also told me that if I don't get the BlackBerry Storm on Christmas, that I'll definitely be getting it before Spring Semester starts.  I am relieved now because (I said) if I didn't see it under the tree on Christmas I was going to throw the Christmas tree across the living room.  I can't wait...just like you can't wait any longer for the quote for today, Dec 11th:

"People usually dislike others that remind them of what they don't like in themselves.  So if someone is sassing you for no reason, tell them: "I know you want to 'if you seek Amy' but I don't have time for your insecurities."

"If You Seek Amy" is one of Britney Spears' songs on her new album "Circus" and if you say "if you seek Amy" really, really slow or listen to the words in the chorus...you'll understand the quote of the day lol.  Also, shout out to Rockstar.  We all hope you're feeling better.  The radio show wasn't the same without you but we had a marvelous time in the studio.  (Shout out to DJ Coffee Black for holding it down with me and to DJ RC & DJ Sexual Chocolate for keeping it real on air.)

I can't wait to get my BlackBerry Storm because I'll be so on the ball, like Elle Woods (after Warner sassed her at the party she was tricked into believing was a costume party).  When I get the BlackBerry Storm I'll be..
.Elle Anderson.

I love my life lol.  Anywho, I wish you all eternal happiness and the greatest luck on your finals.
Stay true pretties.

Gabriel Anderson

Dye Happy (Sass Update #4)

Beautiful...that's you.  So guys, when I was in New York over Thanksgiving Break I slept most of it away.  It felt so good engrossing myself in slumber; wrapping myself around covers sounded better than a waking life.  Consequently, I never scheduled anything with my barber.  So to make it look like I cared, I dyed my hair.  When seeing my hair people keep asking "did you dye your hair?" and I usually respond:
"No.  I'm biracial and whenever my hair grows past a certain point my roots (pun intended) start to change color.  I call it 'Obama Blonde.'"
I think it's adorable when people notice a change in your life.  My natural hair color is a dark chestnut brown, it's beautiful in the sunlight.  Some people actually believe me when I say I'm naturally 'Obama Blonde.'  It's hilarious.  Dye aside, my life is beautiful.  I love my life.  I can honestly see myself (gradually) becoming famous.
In other events, my radio show last night went really well.  Unfortunately my regular co-DJ Rockstar couldn't make it due to a condition so my friend Larissa a.k.a. DJ NKOTB filled in.  We had such a blast on air last night.  It was fantabulous.  But what's really fantabulous is the sass I got yesterday while waiting in line for a wrap.
I was conversing with my spectacular friends in line, that I haven't seen since we left for Thanksgiving Break, and I happened to be facing sideways, not facing toward the deli counter.  So this ignoramus sneaks in front of me and the first thing that happened was I immediately screamed "DICK" because that was such a dick-move.  He turned around, averting my eyes and I glared at him.  No one else saw this skip but his friends, who he kept looking back at, did.  I don't think he knew that I noticed him skip me but he was making it so obvious that he did.  It was funny that he thought he'd pulled a trick on a trickster.  I let him stay there because God wasn't so kind to his face and I'm sure he hadn't gotten laid in weeks.  Plus the dude smelled like he was majoring in Hobo, with a minor in Janitor.  Sometimes you feel bad for people like that because when you see their face, you see their future.  I say to the ignoramus that skipped me in line yesterday (I doubt reading is a skill of yours) "you're in the doghouse b%t*h."
With that being said let's get to the quote of the day (Dec 4th):

"Never underestimate the power of friendship.  Friends are living reminders that you're a valuable asset to the world.  Make sure to spend time with all your friends because they love you...and guess what?  You deserve it!"

Anywho, it's been fun blogging today.  Oh yeah, sorry about how late this post is today.  Last night was long and I pretty much crashed when I got in my room.  I believe it's better to be late than absent.  On that note, I wish you all eternal happiness.  Stay true.

Peace love & Obama,
Gabriel Anderson
