Busy as a Star

It has been too long since I blogged and I think it's time to get back to sharing my world with you. (I would like to thank everyone who reminded me--everyday--that my blog wasn't a thing of the past. Oh and thank you for those who thought I couldn't make it this far. I wish you the best with your pessimistic lives.)

Over the past few weeks a lot has happened.

Remember in my last post I mentioned going to see LADY GAGA at Six Flags? Well I did. And duckies it was life-changing.

I recorded a short video from the concert: it's Lady Gaga performing "Beautiful, Dirty, Rich."

She's simply phenomenal.

A few days ago I had a discussion with Monica and I confessed that Lady Gaga is replacing Beyonce in my music heart.

Monica flipped $hit!

Since we've had that conversation I've been doing a lot of thinking. Beyonce and I have been through a lot in the past few years: she's inspired me to believe in myself, to move on with my life and other wise things.
Lady Gaga on the other hand has only been with me for almost a year. However, she is leading me to live the life I want to live. Lady Gaga is about believing in the glamour of life and enjoying things even when they're not exciting. Beyonce is my mother and Lady Gaga is my life coach.

Beyonce is my R&B Queen

and Lady Gaga is my Pop Diva-Drug.

I love them both equally and individually.

Anywho, the class of 2009 is graduating this Sunday, May 17th.

I know several of them dearly and I will miss them. The names that come to mind are:
-Alicia
-Jamie
-Stacey
-Sean
-Alyssa
-Mike
-Pete
-Yunie
-Wally
-Antoine
-Chrissy (BB)
-Stephanie
-Christine
-Jose
-James
-Phil
-Adam
-Megan
-Nikki
-and those I love and names that slip my mind at the moment.

I think it's only befitting to give you some "Words of Wisdom" now.

"Every decision you make follows you and molds you into the person you choose to be. Choose the decisions you commit to wisely so when your life has run its course, you'll be able to look back and smile."

I just finished watching "Death Proof"--for the umpteenth time--and it's such a good movie.

If you haven't seen it, go see it now. Leave your computers now and go to your nearest DVD retail store. (Or see if iTunes has it lol). It's a movie about the power of women in two different times and settings and how they interact with a sociopath stunt driver. LOL, that's all I'm saying.

"300" is playing in the background right now and I'm glad hardly anyone is on campus because I think I'd kill them.

Watching Leonidas and rest of the Spartans fight with such tactful combative strategies makes me want to strangle someone with my Cup Noodles. It's just so raw and animalisitc that I can't help it. (I'm sorry if I scared you just now. I swear I won't harm you with any type of cup or noodle).
But what's more harmful than Cup Noodles strangulation is not knowing what to do after college.

Rockstar and I have been thinking about our lives after college (because after May 17th, 2009 we're officially seniors, even though he's leaving a semester early). Rockstar is moving out to San Francisco in less than eight months.

He found an apartment out there for $1500 a month and utilities are included in the rent. Plus there's a pool! How more A-List can you get?! I think I might want to move out there with him but I know I'll miss New York. In the same manner I need to break free and emancipate myself from my comfort zone at home. Yes, my parents still love me and will forever assist me in life; however, I think it's time for this little duckie to fly to a new home...even if it takes moving to the West Coast.

If I do move out to California with Rockstar, we'll be closer to our favorite band Manufactured Defects.

Manufactured Defects is this hot new band, from Arizona, that Rockstar and I are in love with. They just had an A-List photoshoot and the photo above is one of the photos from the shoot. We're in the process of revamping their MySpace page. (Take the survey at the top of this page to help us revamp it.) Bigger things are being discussed with the band and you'll definitely here some more A-List buzz about them.

In other news, HarperCollins has offered me another internship this summer. I will be a part of the HarperCollins editing team from June 15th-August 14th. This will be my second internship with HarperCollins. I cannot wait work with them again!

OH! We need a new "Word of the Week."
The new Word of the Week is:

Suntern (pronounced "soon-turn"): Super-intern; one who frequently interns; a well-qualified person who contributes to a particular task, yet agrees to be underpaid.
EX: "This is my second internship with HarperCollins. A couple more and I'll be like LC, the famous suntern.

Okay duckies, I think I've given you more than a mouthful today. I need to find something to eat. Nothing is open--in regards to campus eateries--because finals are over...but I have some secret business to tend to.

I feel like Will Smith in "I Am Legend," searching through cabinets for food, with Duckie Anderson as my only companion.

LOL
With that being said, I wish you the best of happiness.
Be true.

Live, love & Lady Gaga,
Gabriel Anderson

I Have Risen

As blasphemous as this blog post's title sounds duckies, I have. I have been in bed practically all weekend. I didn't even go to class today. I was so under the weather. Deep breaths would lead to coughing fits, laying in bed would cause sweating, staying up to watch a movie would drain me...I was a mess. I am now regaining my health. I had to commit myself to homemade rehab; my body convinced me that it was time.
Due to my health, traveling was an absolute "no-no" so I had to stay on campus this weekend. I couldn't greet Jesus with my family.
And you know what?! Campus was a wasteland. I literally saw a bag of Doritos tumbling in the wind, across the campus' village lawn. That never happens duckies! I was in No-Man's Land.
Luckily, Michelle, Ari, Cris, Shoshana, Steph, Debb and Lauren were here to save me...although the true survivors of the weekend were Ari, Michelle, ShoShana and Cris. These girls helped me regain my strength. They told me to relax and I did. I finally relaxed duckies. We watched "The Devil Wears Prada," a little bit of "Friends with Money" and "The House Bunny." The hardest decisions I made all weekend was my outfit choice. Despite my lack of wellness (style should not take toll because of your physical well-being) I changed more than once in a given day. Like I said before duckies, dress how you want to feel: accentuate your ego, caress your desires and wear your psyche around your cuff-links.
Anywho, these fabulous ladies made my weekend bearable and festive. Michelle, I love our adventures and how much we love fresh air. Thank you for coming to my room--so I wouldn't have to go alone--to get my DVD collection case. Steph, thank you for being my center this weekend. I'm so glad you like "True Blood" now. Ari, baby girl I love that we both have an obsession with Beyonce, (thanks for trying to wake me up with "Halo"). Cris, I love your crystal and your beautiful presence (we need to hang out more). All I have to say is...
Oh! I got some juicy news. Somehow Nick is trying to get back in my life (not the biggest shocker) and he told me he's getting a full-ride to Yale's graduate program, plus a stipend next year!
Congratulations Nick! I am so proud of you; chase your dreams!
But I have a confession.
I love hearing good news from friends and sometimes I get carried away when I hear great news from past lovers. However, as A-List as you are, it's never going to work out. Every time we get back together its fine for a couple months then we're both looking for the best way to break it off. I think friends would be the best option right now because we can still converse and stuff. But anything further than friendship, at this moment, doesn't seem manageable. Of course it'll take work from both our ends (especially mine because I still have deep feelings for you) but I need to move on and test the waters. I'm only twenty-years young and the world wants more than a sample; they want all of Gabriel and I'm ready to bare as much as necessary!

Duckies, there was some hardcore dabble about marriage coming from Nick's side of the phone. But I thoroughly explained to him that my 20's are going to be about me. As much as I would love the idea of being the only one among my peers, in a semi-committal semi-stable relationship, I would much rather prefer enjoying my individual star lifestyle. I love you enough to not take this any further duckie.
Speaking of leaving before the Feds come in and bust the joint down (you'll understand if you watch the movie I'm about to mention), I am in love with the movie "Boiler Room."
After watching this movie...OMG, life is so clear. I know exactly how I'm going to shoot up to international stardom. In addition to my clear, cookie-cutter career choice my reasoning is impeccable. I can see through so much of society's acceptable bull$hit that sometimes I confuse myself because (in my head) I explain it so well that it seems ridiculous that I once saw the world as something unbeatable and impossible. The world is yours duckies...take it all and forgive others (only once and a half) lol!
In regards to taking it all, I wish I had a maid on campus, that could clean my apartment and efficiently take care of my laundry. I am very anal-retentive when it comes to my clothing because image is everything to me. If you can't take pride in your outfit then you shouldn't wear it. I am recovering from a chest cold and I was decked out in my black leather Calvin Klein shoots (shoe boots), black and white striped Adidas track pants, grey Red Cap t-shirt, huge black wool scarf, black peacoat and matching black skully cap. I looked damn good for someone coming out of a sickness-induced coma. Back to business, I wish I had less pride so I send my laundry out.
I love my stuff smelling like me, fresh. Ergo, I don't think I'll ever have anyone else do it again (unless I'm really sick). I love you Mommy but my laundry is a crucial part of my life. My clothes--sometimes, as superficial as it sounds--define my personality. My wardrobe is usually spunky and fun...just like me.
Wooohuh! Okay duckies, I think it's time for some "Words of Wisdom."
"Love your life. No matter what is happening, love it for the things you foresee in your future. Love your life because you're alive. Love your life because it's yours...you belong here for a reason duckie! Love every second because you can feel how beautiful it is to be you."
Sorry duckies but we need to start loving our lives more. Being sick, I am jealous of my bored days. When I was bored I fully capable: inhaling deeply without feeling the shaky remembrance of the mucus harbored in my abdomen, going about everyday liberties without the promise of draining my energy, laughing without being bombarded with harsh coughing. When I cough I feel like my throat is being force-fed coarse stones.

But I still love life duckies. This is merely a temporary pit-stop. Now it's time to relax and treasure. In a day or two I'll be attacking the world again, as if nothing happened.
Babychild! I forgot to mention that Alyssa and Rockstar were phenomenal at their lip sync performance today. Alyssa invited me to come see her performance for our school's annual Greek Week ceremonial/social event--and her sorority was matched-up with their soulmate fraternity--being held at Konover. The performances were superb but Alyssa's routine won 1st place.
I'm proud of you duckies!

Mike: Graham told me that you joined my FaceBook group "Gabriel Anderson Friends" and he quoted you--in a text--saying "I don't just join any group." I feel honored that you joined duckie. Tell your friends, spread the gospel of Gabriel Anderson. I love that you read it and I am glad that I can share my life with you. Thank you for being a treasured ruby. I truly appreciate you.
Graham: Sorry Monica and I took forever to meet you at Konover today. We were lallygagging for quite a bit and we lost track of time. Plus I'm sick so we had to walk at a moderate pace...you know with the whole thing of my chest being consumed by mucus...no biggie lol. Anywho, I had a blast with you and Monica tonight. Thank you for making me laugh. Laughter is the best cure for any ailment. But always remember...CUT THE CORD! LOL
Monica: Babychild! You are my ride or die! Freshmen year, I remember coming up to your place all times of night and we would converse about life and you would always bring up that you heard me singing Beyonce earlier in the day. It sucks that we're not married anymore but its for the better. You know I only "enjoy" women after 3am on Saturdays nights! ONE NIGHT ONLY, aow! Love you.
Rockstar: Rockstar! We were BBMing each other and I found out you're sick too. Why are we sick? We don't deserve this lol...no one does. I'm guessing this is God's way of making us take a break from our A-List lives. I wish he was more subtle; maybe he'll mess with the reception of our BBM? Now that I think about it losing BBM is worse than a chest cold. We're surviving and I might wanna move to Cali with you in eight months. Wooohuh, get ready for it baby boy! (Or maybe not...we'll talk lol.)
Courtney/Innocent: OMG, Innocent. I couldn't believe you came into my room today, knowing I was sick, just to check-up on me. You were not afraid of the impending doom of the lurking germs in my room. You were concerned for my health and you braved it all. Courtney, you are such a delight to have in life. I am so glad I have you as a friend. You are a remarkable person and I can't wait for more Bad-A$$ and Innocent Adventures. I love you.
Okay duckies, I am too drained to do anything else but sleep right now. I'll probably do my laundry on Wednesday instead of tomorrow morning. Oh well! I still love life...just not enough to have my throat raped by rocks again lol.
I wish you the best of happiness. Stay true duckies.

Haunted in Hartford

Duckies! Yes, I have been a bit negligent with posting but I've been super-busy with life. I'm tending to summer internship paperwork, Red Cap duties, homework, family, my social life and myself. I just made a new away message and Monica really liked it. It reads:
"There comes a time in life when one has to die in order to live; it isn't a sad death but more of an inner-awakening."

I have no idea where such insight came to me so early this morning--10AM is early for a college student--but I wanted to share that with you.
Speaking of Monica, she, Graham and I had a homework party last night. But like any homework party it became a party among the company of books. We accomplished some assignments but not as many as we planned.

Let's face it...homework sucks! Plus it's not even homework. It's dormroomwork. Nonetheless we finished our assignments...well I know I did lol.
In other news, Garret, Josh and I have decided to live together next year. We're going to be suities (suitemates)!

We want Nate to live with us too but none of us have had the chance--or remembers when he's around the suite--to ask him. (Maybe I'll just send him the link to this post lol). We are going to get singles in Park River, the college retirement home on campus. Freshmen year we dealt with the brickhouse projects and our second and third years have been spent with random people. However, we're going to be pampered as seniors! (Ahhhh, I'm going to be a senior in college next year!)
I'm not freaking out, just merely making peace with it in a rash manner lol.
Anywho, this past weekend was an absolute wonder. I traveled afar--on campus--to many destinations: parties, social gatherings and to those I love dearly. I believe it was Friday night that I visited Alyssa's apartment and we were sharing friendly-gossip, of course. Then the subject changed to "Twilight: The Movie" and how pain-stricken Jasper looks in every scene.

If you haven't seen "Twilight: The Movie" please do. It's hilarious. I was a bit hesitant when Gabriella begged Mommy and I to go with her to see it in theaters but afterwards I could only thank Gabriella for such a treat.
Speaking of movies, Graham, Monica and I finally had the chance to see "The Haunting in Connecticut."

It was such an amazing film: there were parts where we jumped, screamed and laughed. For the most part, I'm still afraid when I'm alone in my room. As seen in the previews, there's a scene where the main character (Matt) turns off his TV and sees a dark male figure walk out of his door's threshold. I've been sleeping with my TV on ever since I've seen "The Haunting in CT." I'm such a scared little duckie.

In regards to TV, it brings me great grief to say this but we--my producer and I--have decided to cancel my TV show's production.

"The Antoine Gardner Show," which would have been an ultimate success, would have killed the both of us. With Mallory being so close to graduation and with me stressing over school already we though it'd be best to lessen our load while we were ahead. But duckies, never fear I am full of endless goals.
I was thinking about starting a VLOG (video blog) in addition to the glamorous blog you're reading right now. This weekend Eddie let me borrow his video camera and it felt so good to video tape others while I interjected with witty humor. (I'll give you more details about the VLOG as time progresses.)

I think it's time for the "Word of the Week."
This word of the week is:
Hove - To adore something so purely that it is then transfixed into hate; justified jealousy; hate-love.
Ex: Person 1: "I love you so much that I hate you, Gabriel."
Person 2: "Honeychild, that's called hove. And you have no idea how much I hove you."

Since I'm in good spirits, let me give you some "Words of Wisdom" too.
"We are all collectedly ignorant. Without experiencing the opposite of our usual comfort zone we cannot fully appreciate and understand those who may not agree with us. In order for people to survive, an equal and opposite force needs to be present. Take time to understand."

Lauren, Cliff Morris, Aly and Amanda...
Lauren - This day makes it a year that we've been friends. I remember your party last year and how much fun it was with the Happy Meal Aladdin stickers lol. (Were they Happy Meal stickers??) Happy Birthday honeychild!
Aly - Wooohuh! Regents buddy! Grace! I love you so much and I can't even explain how much I want you to rape this day. Make it yours! Happy birthday sweetheart!
Cliff Morris - Do I really need to express how much I love you?! (Ummm...Yes! lol) I love you so much dude. You are an unbelievably valuable treasure and I can't imagine life without you. Happy birthday my dear people-friend!
Amanda - I am terribly sad that you took this year off from school but I am so happy that I can call you a friend. I love you with all my heart and I had a great time at your party...even though you might not remember lol. Happy birthday baby girl!
Okay duckies, it's time for me to start my beautiful day. It looks like it's about to rain but nothing stops me from loving the world.
I wish you the best of happiness. Stay true duckies.

Gabriel Anderson

The Slopes

Duckies, OMG. This weekend has been so sasstasic...and sometimes not in a good way. But I survived and that's what counts most. There was sooooo much drama. I felt like I was stuck in an episode of "The Hills."

(We'll call Hartford "The Slopes" since its always flooding.)

You know how "The Hills" doesn't have any real drama: someone getting hit by a car, declaring bankruptcy, going to rehab? No one even cuts themselves while chopping food in the kitchen.

Well that's exactly how it was this weekend.

More importantly, there were so many divine parties...it was insane.

Shout-out to Josh, Gideon, Andrea, Penelope, Victoria, Diana, Phillip, Sarah, Alyssa, Shane, Mara, Nik, Molly Red, Bill, Steph, Samantha, Alice, BB, Francis, Monica, Yunie, Rockstar, Graham, Evy and anyone else I forgot.

I had fun. Toward the end of Friday night Mara, Samantha, Alice, Francis and I were relaxing and conversing. All of sudden we spot some books Samantha has to read for her student teaching. These books were so emo!

I remember this one book: "Flyaway Home." It was about an impoverished father and son who lived in an airport because they couldn't afford to live in a house. It was so wrong and we were so into those books. It was like "The Pursuit of Happyness: Airport Blues."

Kids need to enjoy their lives before we ravish them with the uglies of the world: they are the future!

Anywho, the next day (Saturday) I went shopping with Monica and Yunie. It was magnificent.

I purchased a few (HOT) shirts, a ring and a chic facial cleanser. I had so much fun. It was a true adventure and my spirits are so high right now. I'm like two good deeds away from being Jesus' publicist. Wooohuh!

Later on in that night I hung out with the A-List kids and the jetsetters: we move the world!

We stayed in: gossiped and swallowed juicy news, poked fun at each other's beauty and spoke about our futures. It was marvelous. Soon thereafter Alyssa and I were having jam sessions to "If I Were A Boy" and other hits. (You are the true definition of a queen, darling.)

In other news, last night Sigma Nu had their (revamped) annual Steak Dinner.

It was scrumptious. My people-friends and I were in V.I.P. and we kicked back, soaking in the glamour. Ugh, the aura of class that exuded from the event was so regal. And the paparazzi were going Gaga at our tables.

Speaking of celebrities, there was a fabulous performance by "Fergie" at the steak dinner.

I loved your red dress, you sexy sugar-muffin; just wanna take a bite out of your supple face and sell it on eBay. Wooohuh!

Enough with the celebrity dishes, let's clean this post up with some "Words of Wisdom."

"The only person in the way of your dreams is yourself. Big dreams can be accomplished if you commit yourself to the task and do whatever it takes. Believe in yourself and love your life. Magical things will happen."

With that being said you beautiful duckies, it's time for me to hit the sack.
I wish you the best of happiness. Stay true.

Sassy Candy

My precious duckies, how are you? I know all is well because that's how life should be lived. Yesterday I forgot to mention that I watched a couple movies with Monica, Yunie and Raynell.

We watched "Hard Candy"

and "The House Bunny."

"Hard Candy" is one of the most mind-boggling movies I've ever seen; I'll only tell you its about a 14 year-old girl and a 32 year-old man. (Go see it.)
"The House Bunny" is an adorably inspiring film about an ex-playmate revamping a "loser" sorority. (Go see that too!)

I love watching movies with Monica, Yunie and Raynell because we all talk and laugh throughout the movie without anyone caring. Plus, we're so comical and witty. And yesterday I learned something new from Yunie.

Don't laugh at me duckies...I didn't know "Indie" meant "Independent."

I'm sure a few of you duckies didn't know the meaning either. lol
I thought "Indie" was a cool new term for artsy things. (I've been having a blonde year duckies. I'm sorry lol.)

Anywho, I was speaking to a good friend of mine today (via AIM) and it was so good to hear from him. Axel is studying abroad at NYU this semester and he had a midterm today. He told me that my blog kept him sane because he made himself calm down and didn't focus on the stress. He thinks he did incredibly well on it.

I am so proud of you Axel and I'm glad my blog could be of service to your A-List life.
OH! While I was conversing with Axel via AIM, I was at the library. Duckies, I know sometimes we see our friends at the library and we may sit next to them and converse with them and not get any work done...well at least I do lol. Anywho, this one girl decided to call her bank to cancel three of her credit cards!

Not one, not two but three!

It would have been excusable if she had called her Mom to fill out her FAFSA or something. But no! This girl was rambunctious and kept saying "I can't afford it, I can't afford it." Luckily, I just finished making a new playlist on my BlackBerry Storm so I drowned her out with Beyonce.

Okay duckies, it's time for some "Words of Wisdom."

"Believing in faulty people will only lead to disappointment. When choosing a person to rely on make sure you find concrete evidence of their value as a person and if they're worth your time. And if they don't believe in themselves...why waste your time when you can use some belief for yourself?"

(SIDE NOTE!)
Someone just prank called me. I must admit, I have prank called several folk back in the day and I've witnessed people get prank called. But people...that was in high school. The only person in high school that has my number is Gabriella and she doesn't have time to prank call people; she's too busy with her jetsetting life.

Ergo, if you're a college student and you're still prank calling people...maybe you should rethink your career path. Try telemarketing, it's just as annoying as your personality.
With that being said, I wish you the best of happiness. (To the prank caller: I wish you the best with your unfulfilled life.) Stay true duckies.

Gabriel Anderson

Sass the Runway

Hola duckies! I am in the library and I can't stop looking out the window. Supposedly a snowstorm is supposed to swamp the Northeast.

Duckies, we have to believe in the snow. I know you don't want classes tomorrow nor do you favor Mondays. I need you to look out your window (or just go outside) and say:
.

Anywho, yesterday I went to the BSU Fashion Show and it was radical. The concepts behind the different scenes were so intricate and fantabulous. Here are some pictures of the glorious show.

I must admit the tardiness of the show was a bit much but I dealt with it accordingly...like this one tacky girl who sassed Graham and I upon arrival.

Duckies, I told you I was going to think positive and get front row seats. Well, Graham and I believed together and we were able to get VIP seating. (It's all about who you know duckies.) But this tacky duckie tried to stop us. There was a public line to get seating and Graham and I weren't aware of it until the tacky duckie said "You're not on the list." It wasn't what she said but how she said it that got me fired up. Then after seeing the looks on both of our faces she said "I love power." Duckies I couldn't hold it any longer. I replied:

"You don't have any power; after this show you're background noise again. And exactly who are you? You are incredibly sassy and I don't appreciate it. Do you hate your life that much that you're going to try to ruin my night? You should transfer because no one's going to like your attitude."

After I put her in her place she looked away and targeted someone else; a dear friend of mine, Keith, who happened to be chewing gum. The tacky duckie said "Stop popping your gum." Keith said something that made me laugh (can't really remember). Get it together duckie. Stop trying to suck the glamour-jazz out of everything.
(Wooohuh! Had to let that out!)

In other news, I was conversing with a duckie, Jocelyn, and she told me she admired my way of dancing. She had a fabulous idea too. Jocelyn told me I should try to teach my own dance class. I really put some thought into it and I am going to (try) to make it an official recreational course for next year.

We'll learn the choreography of hot & sassy music videos and at the end of the course we'll create our own. (I'll keep you duckies posted!)
So excited!

Okay okay, let's get to some "Words of Wisdom."

"The earlier you believe in something the more the outcome will be tailored to your vision. In order to give meaning to a belief you must have a tremendous amount of faith in yourself. Trust and believe!"

I've been hearing a lot of sass about Obama in the media lately.

Leave him alone. He is the closest thing we've got to a solution to America's ridiculous issues. You can't find flaws in perfection.

(Okay so I just looked at a guy to my right--I'm still at the library--and he said "How are you?" I replied "I'm well. How are you?" He said "I'm good," and got up from his chair. I know my face was puzzled, talking to him. He wasn't sassing me...he was just awkward. Like pedophile awkward.)

Lesley: I love you more than chocolate chip cookies.
Pete: Long live Bromance!
Graham: How can I not love you? I had a ball at the Fashion Show.
Lamarra: You looked ravishingly beautiful last night. I'm glad we were in VIP last night.
Monica: What else can I say about how much I love your everything? You're my shooting star.
Alicia: I wasn't kidding when I told you I enjoyed the show, at the Commons. I thoroughly enjoyed it! Thank you for sharing your vision with the student body.
Rockstar: You make my life.

Okay duckies, I actually have to start my homework...even though there's going to be a blizzard tonight, (believe it duckies). I wish you the best of happiness. Stay true.

Peace, love & Obama,
Gabriel Anderson
