BlackBird is Missing

Good morning duckies. For those of you who follow me on Twitter (and if you don't today's the day to start lol) you may have seen some very dramatic tweets last night. Some duckies think I was fighting with my dear friend Graham last night, but that wasn't the case. Graham and I were trying to send links to each other last night via Twitter and FaceBook. It so happened that it looked like we were fighting because we were tweeting so fast and using direct references (and each others' names) in our tweets. Even though our tweets looked consequential, it was only a coincidence. I was fighting with Nick...not Graham.

Nick and I have had a two-year history and in these two years it looks like we ended up right where we started: our problems revolved around sex. It wasn't the lack of sex--God no--it was our insatiable desires for it. I've made peace with the fact that I'm a nymphomaniac years ago but Nick on the other hand has yet to love that part of himself.

Last night I realized that Nick is a liar. (Yes, I've told my fair share of lies but when it comes to direct questions I tell you the truth, tears and all.) We had this weird relationship where we were technically "together" and wouldn't get too involved with other men: sex was okay but love wasn't acceptable. I called Nick last night and asked him if he had sex recently and his reply was "No." He then asked me the same question and I told him "Yes." I went into detail, telling him the exact day and time while describing everything in vivid images.

Somehow after the story Nick "remembered" that he did have sex last week...which pissed me off. It wasn't just because he sad sex. It was the fact that he lied about not having sex until I confessed to having sex. In addition, it was with one of his friends that he has been habitually-sexually involved with! The thing that angered me the most was this wasn't the first time Nick has lied to me about having sex...and it so happened that he lied about not having sex with the same person he denied having sex with last night.
You simply can't have friends with benefits because it never works. The only benefit you'll get out of such a weird relationship is the benefit of sheer loneliness.

This was the last straw.

I know that I am not easy to love but it's not easy to love someone who doesn't love themselves either. Nick would always joke around saying "Yea, my parents know about us. They love you." and "Oh yea, I read your blog. It's my favorite." I just can't take the lies anymore. I know he was joking around but if you look at those statements closely, you'll know why I'm angry.

I am very open with my sexuality with my parents & friends and I have introduced them to boyfriends in the past. The fact that Nick would lie about something like that didn't hurt me at first but eventually it did. It hurt because I knew in my heart that I would eventually introduce Nick to my parents as my lover. It hurt because I really wanted Nick to read my blog (and not only when I mention him. He only read it when he was in the headlines). Nick basically mocked my true desires with his sick jokes.

I know for a fact that Nick would have never introduced me to his family and/or friends as his lover because Nick is so God-washed that he thinks his own sexuality is a crime. Plus, his family is full of super-Christians and his love for his family would have shadowed his "love" for me.

Come to think of it Nick was a SummerBoy in disguise. We met in the Summer, the beginning of my Sophomore year in college, and we see each other mainly in the Summer. He's basically a SummerBoy with clout...excuse me. A SummerBoy that had clout.

Yes, we had phenomenal times and fantastic sex but that doesn't equate to a healthy relationship, especially if one of the parties isn't taking it as serious as the other. I can't deal with his mockery of our relationship anymore. I'm not always the good guy but I know what's good for me and Nick is anything but a cure.

For the past few months, I have been conceptualizing living a married life with Nick. Now I see that vision was premature and too much to ask.
It's over Nick. I wish you the best in love, life, and happiness.

Duckies, I had to let him go. Even though it's rough to let go of someone you love dearly, you have to remember if you love something that doesn't respect you, you're only welcoming damage into your life.
I hate change when it comes to love but this was a change well deserved. Nick can watch from the sidelines...that's if I even let him close enough to talk to me again.

Anywho, I have a SummerBoy update.

I started talking to this goal-oriented hottie. His name is Joel. He's a good kid. He's 20, has an internship with an LGBT center downtown, incredibly cute, tall (6' 2" to be exact), and he seems level-headed. We're on the "getting to know each other" basis right now but I'll keep you posted. Oh and Joel hates liars...we have something in common lol.

Okay, okay. Let's get to some "Words of Wisdom."

"When making rules remember that you made them. Rules are boundaries created to govern and manipulate peace and control. When implementing rules with different parties, keep in mind that you are the law and others may interpret you--the law--in different ways."

Sadly, I left BlackBird, my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry Storm, at home today.

I think it was a sign from God though. Right before I ended things with Nick he pleaded to have lunch with me today. I kept declining the offer but I know if he sent me lovey-dovey text messages throughout the day, I probably wouldn't be able to function at work. And who passes up free lunch? LOL, I do today because I don't have my phone and I'm better than allowing myself to succumb to the likes of Nick again.
Divine intervention indeed.

Okay, I have to get to work duckies.
I wish you the best of happiness. I love you. Stay tuned and true.

Running on Empty

Good afternoon duckies!
I hope all is well because life is meant to be experienced through the lens of optimism and wellness. For the past two nights I haven't been getting much sleep. (Remember the thing I said about how the sleep you got last night will energize you tomorrow?)
Well since I didn't go to bed until 2am on Monday night--I don't blame Beyonce entirely--

--I blame Transformers 2 too! (I didn't go to bed until 3:30 last night!!!)

If you duckies follow me on Twitter, you already know I went to see Transformers 2 at midnight. It was astronomical! It's by far better than the first. The first movie had a lot of dry parts and dialogue, whereas Transformers 2 was all about "in-your-face" action, laugh-out-loud humor, an amazing plot and authentic dialogue. I went with my Mom, Gabriella and Gabriella's friend Rachel.
Job well done Michael Bay!

In other news, I discovered that Gabriella is a genius...

and I'm an incomplete idiot lol.
Five months ago, I purchased a new battery for my laptop. A few months after I bought it I thought it died it because whenever I unplugged my laptop it would immediately shut-off. So being the smart guy I am I figured my battery died out again. I was so mad because I couldn't use my laptop anywhere that didn't have outlets laying around. It was basically on life support: a vegetable to be exact.

Last night Gabriella and I were in the living room, on our laptops. I told her I hated my computer because it was on life support and I couldn't deal with the unbearable heat on my lap. She didn't believe me until I unplugged my laptop and it immediately shut-off. I told her I needed a new battery and I took out the battery and to my amazement everything but the battery was so hot. When I picked it up I said, "I think my battery really is dead. It can't even heat-up anymore."
Gabriella gave it a focused gaze and said "Put the battery back in." I laughed at her and I told her it wasn't going to work. I unplugged the laptop adapter and placed the battery back inside the laptop....and when I pressed the power button it came on!!!
My jaw instantly dropped and Gabriella began laughing her ass off! For months I thought my laptop was a piece of shit...but I was just too dumb to realize I didn't put my battery in correctly.
WOOOOOMP-WOOOOOOMP!

Duckies, I am so tired. I can't wait for 5:30pm to come around so I can touch my pillow inappropriately.

But until then, here are some "Words of Wisdom."

"When things start to progress, difficulty usually comes into the mix. Sometimes tasks seem unbearable and sometimes you might wanna give up. But remember, if life were easy life would be incredibly boring and what's the point in working hard if everyone is the same? Plus, if you're not tested on your ability to adapt and persevere you'd never know your truth worth and level of endurance. Smile, especially when things get rough. Go out there duckies and show them your worth!"

Okay, I'm definitely falling asleep at work. It's time to get some more coffee. I'm gonna make this day beautiful regardless of my energy.
OH! I just made a quiz of FaceBook. Go and take it duckies!

I wish you the best of happiness. I love you. Stay true and tuned.

Commercialized Love

Duckies, duckies, duckies. I am on cloud nine. I am currently single but I am so married to myself. I'm so in love that I find myself giggling when people sass me.

I'm like a sassy little schoolgirl who laughs when people throw Elmer's glue at me. lol

Anyway, today is Friday the 13th (oOoOoOo) and people are freaking out. I don't believe in bad luck because once you believe in it, it gains power over you.

(Story Time, yay!)
Well one day it was raining and I didn't feel like waiting until I got outside to open my umbrella;I was so over the rain. So I open my umbrella indoors and OMG...

people started running away from me like I had leprosy. (Even some of my friends ran away!!!)
Why fear this day of all days? What's so scary about "13?" It's just a number. Many movies have been made about it (Friday the 13th) but come on. Let's grow up! How do you think the number 13 feels?

Speaking of feeling, I found an angel. Edie from HarperCollins is going through a life-changing experience and she is still helping me out; making sure that I get an internship with HarperCollins.

How precious is she? You're fantastic at life, Edie!

Since we're talking about precious things...I have two precious duckies in my life. Whenever I see them I am filled with pure joy. Whenever I speak to them I can't help but smile. When we hug, I feel electricity surging through my veins. It's marvelous to be around Lesley and Tamara. Today, when I was walking in Gengras Student Union I saw an old friend selling Valentine's Day goodies (for UHAGC: University of Hartford Gospel Choir). I was persuaded to donate money for a gift and I had no idea who I was going to give the gift to; my mind was drawing a blank. I'm trying to think and I end up turning to the right and I see...beautifully, bubbly Tamara. (God had sent me a sign!)

Seeing her made me love Valentine's Day even more...so instead of just buying one gift, I bought one for Lesley too! I love those girls; their presence evokes the warmth of the Sun. Happy Valentine's Day Eve duckies!

In other news, I've recently been adopting a new style. I am obsessed with Hobo Chic attire.

It's basically dressing like a hobo, without the odor or unemployment. You basically mix and match layers and believe in the outfit. Not everyone can pull off the look...this is not for beginners duckies! Beginners usually end up looking like this...

Anywho, I was at the library not too long ago and I decided to start blogging there (before I got kicked out because the library closes at 6pm on Fridays. WTF?!) But I love big screens.

(Actual picture...look how big the screen is compared to my fedora. Huge and obnoxious. Rar-Rar! My laptop is a 17". I wanted a 22" but my Mom said "no.")

Anyway, when I was blogging the computer was taking sooooooo long to load pages. I was getting so pissed off. I guess the library didn't focus on depth (like functionality and Internet speed) but focused more on "oOoO, this is pretty." I guess it worked because I was lured lol.
Oh my friend Porsha says she hates people who use the group computers (the big one I was using by myself) so I just want to give her a shout-out; telling tell her that I was on the big screen computer, blogging & on Facestalking people. (OoOoOo, word of the week.)

The Word of the Week is:

Facestalking - the act of closely observing the life of another through Facebook; creepily conducting research on someone's personal life; a good way to procrastinate from doing homework.

Ex: "Girl, did you read Gabriel's status?"
"Of course I did. I started Facestalking him right after he changed it."

Okay duckies, it's time for today's "Words of Sassdom:"

"Opinions are faulty things. Do not believe in what others perceive because perception is deciphered by experience and you may not have the same experience as another duckie. Think and experience for yourself."

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day and so many people hate it. Alyssa made a great point the other day:

"Valentin's Day is kind of silly. Why should you show me more love on a particular day just because people say you should?! Show me some love on February 15th."

(I'm sure that's what she said...well at least along the lines of.)

But some people just flat-out hate it, like my friend Rebecca.

For all those who hate Valentine's Day, I apologize for the asshole that ruined such a beautiful commercialized holiday for you.

Happy birthday Ernie! (Your b'day was yesterday but I'll be at your party tonight!)

Also, shout-out to Justin. Happy Birthday, GROUP D!!!

Duckies, it's about that time for me to get ready for my A-list weekend. Happy (early) Valentine's Day and enjoy your weekend.

I wish you the best of happiness. Stay true.

Peace, love & Gabriel,
Gabriel Anderson

The Hobo Wears Prada

Good morning duckies. Sorry that this blog is being posted late. Yesterday I didn't get my daily Starbucks fix so I was tiiiiired. I was falling asleep at my desk and when I got home...I was a Wii zombie. Anywho, these recent Dunkin' Donuts commercials are pissing me off.

From what I've seen just about every morning, more people prefer Starbucks over Shunkin' Donuts. (You know you got the joke!) I love the warm, roasted coffee bean flavor that Starbucks provides. It makes me so toasty and euphoric in the morning. Anyway, let's get to yesterday's topics!

As said before I didn't have my daily Starbucks fix so my coordination was off. In the kitchen area I was conversing with someone in our production department (having a good ol' time) but then someone came behind me. I moved out of her way (because she was holding a mug of hot water) and I accidentally bumped into a pile of empty water cooler jugs.

How embarrassing?! I don't think anybody cared that I bumped into them but I was so ashamed. It made such a loud noise. I'm surprised no one ran out of their office panicking lol. Even though my coordination was off, my work ethic wasn't affected.

Yesterday I was given a project: to create a Facebook page for my department, "Eos Books." (Add "EOS Books" as a friend on Facebook so you can see my hard work.)

They thought it would take me a couple days to create but I did it all in one day. I was so proud of myself. And I felt sooooo good when everyone complimented me on my efficiency and within minutes most of the department added "EOS Books" as a friend on Facebook. (Thank you to those who have already 'friended' "EOS Books." My heart goes out to you.

Anywho, after a long day at work I just wanted to go home and rest. But my train rides home are never dull. Halfway through my train ride a family comes into my train car, with the usual:
"Excuse me ladies and gentlemen, my family and I are homeless and...blah-blah-blah. We sing for money, blah-blah-blah. Blaaaaaah!"
Anyway, they start jamming and by reflex I check out their clothing, to see if they're legit. I look at one of the kids' clothing and one of them had on new-like Prada sneakers.

WTF? If bums get to wear Prada, sign me up for poverty! Plus one of the kids had these hot glasses that I recently saw in American Apparel. Oh no; I was not dishing out any of my money. I love my Caramel Macchiattos too much. They were scam bums. Their outfits (almost, but not really) looked as nice as mine.

Speaking of nice outfits, I'm going to a free screening of "The Unborn" tonight.

(Yes, the life of a celebrity is never done.) I'm taking Devin as my guest. I'm so excited to be scared sh%^less! It takes me awhile to get over scary movies. Since it's Jan 8th, I'll probably still be scared until (hmmmmmmm) early February lol. Yeah, it's that real. OMG! Speaking of real,

""

premiered last night. I was so tired that I was falling asleep during the hour-long episode. The first episode was "okay" but the season looks like it's going be phenomenal. By the way, I'm so glad they have an articulate, attractive and educated A-A on the show. Woooohuh! Go A-A's!
(For those new to the acronym, "A-A's" are African-Americans. Gosh...lol)

On other notes, I'd like to take time to thank everyone who has been commenting and reading my blog. Without you guys this would be a sassy waste of space on the Internet.

You guys don't know how much I appreciate you.
Here are some shout-outs!

I love you all!
With that being said let's get to the quote of the day, Jan 8th:

"Always carry yourself with poise because it makes you more memorable than others. Be civil and classy. (And guess what?) More people notice you than you think."

I just finished my Caramel Macchiato and it just started my engines. It's time to work! I wish you the best of happiness. Stay true duckies.

Peace, love & Obama,
Gabriel Anderson
