Elle's $30 BlackBerry

Well hello beautiful. This past weekend was amazing. I didn't do much but I loved it. Sometimes the best opinion comes from alien eyes. (That was a random quote lol).

Speaking of alien it's been awhile since I've gotten a haircut and I like the way it looks. I look fresh. Anywho, I decided to go back to the barbershop on Saturday. (Remember I left the barbershop because Gabriella and Mommy were leaving too, on Friday? Back to the barbershop!)

I had to wait two hours to get my haircut because my barber was so slow and he had the nerve to be on the phone for most of the time.

Plus, someone farted in the shop and didn't confess. (I swear it wasn't me duckies. I have pride in my gas.)

Later that evening, all fresh and clean, Elle and I decided to hit up this chic lounge for a couple hours.

We spoke about our glamorous futures, had a few adult beverages, had a heart-to-heart and roamed the city...while dancing our way to the Starbucks at Union Square.

When we got there, two baristas (one who obviously needed to stop lying to himself about this sexuality) were arguing over a male barista's (the "gay" one) choice to end a relationship. The "gay" one said he ended it because the girl was crazy...like checking his phone, MySpace, Facebook and pockets (on a daily basis), to see if he was cheating on her. Gay or not, that would drive any person away.

Elle and I were laughing at their frivolous arguments...until she checked her purse and realized she lost her BlackBerry!

(Que the dramatic music!)

We immediately backtracked our steps, Starbucks in hand, but Elle's BlackBerry was nowhere to be found. I kept telling Elle to believe that it would come back to her because negative thinking would only worsen the situation. She tried believing in it until we both got tired of searching for it. We parted ways, going home soon thereafter, but I didn't give up. During the car ride back to Hartford I texted Elle's BlackBerry saying:

"Hi, if you have my friend's phone her name is Elle and her house number is (can't post it here duckies). Please be the beautiful person that you are and call to return her phone."

A couple hours after I got back on campus Elle texts me saying a lady found her phone and (with my help) was able to call her house to return it. Elle's parents drove her downtown to get her BlackBerry. (Only the true A-list are driven around.)

All Elle had in her wallet was $30 so she gave it to the kind woman.

The woman wasn't expecting a reward, she was just happy to see a BlackBerry back with it's owner. Yay happy endings!

In regards to happy endings, Aaron (my ex-people-friend) called me today. I didn't pick up because I'm so over that unproductive duckie. He left a message saying:

so I can know to stop calling you."

WTF? Honestly? If your so-called best friend hasn't been returning your calls since 2008 then you should take the hint. Aaron, I'm sorry but you just added stress to my life. I wish you the best with everything.

Okay duckies, I've held it off long enough. Here are some "Words of Wisdom."

"Biases are just familiar perceptions; you really can't blame people for hiding behind known territories. But when people try to force or envelope their biases upon you...then it becomes a problem."

By the way, I am in love with "The House Bunny."

(It's playing in the background right now.)
It's one of those movies that you can watch over and over again without wanting to OD on Pepto bismol.

Duckies, it's time to cuddle with my pillow. I wish you the best. Stay true.

The Hobo Wears Prada

Good morning duckies. Sorry that this blog is being posted late. Yesterday I didn't get my daily Starbucks fix so I was tiiiiired. I was falling asleep at my desk and when I got home...I was a Wii zombie. Anywho, these recent Dunkin' Donuts commercials are pissing me off.

From what I've seen just about every morning, more people prefer Starbucks over Shunkin' Donuts. (You know you got the joke!) I love the warm, roasted coffee bean flavor that Starbucks provides. It makes me so toasty and euphoric in the morning. Anyway, let's get to yesterday's topics!

As said before I didn't have my daily Starbucks fix so my coordination was off. In the kitchen area I was conversing with someone in our production department (having a good ol' time) but then someone came behind me. I moved out of her way (because she was holding a mug of hot water) and I accidentally bumped into a pile of empty water cooler jugs.

How embarrassing?! I don't think anybody cared that I bumped into them but I was so ashamed. It made such a loud noise. I'm surprised no one ran out of their office panicking lol. Even though my coordination was off, my work ethic wasn't affected.

Yesterday I was given a project: to create a Facebook page for my department, "Eos Books." (Add "EOS Books" as a friend on Facebook so you can see my hard work.)

They thought it would take me a couple days to create but I did it all in one day. I was so proud of myself. And I felt sooooo good when everyone complimented me on my efficiency and within minutes most of the department added "EOS Books" as a friend on Facebook. (Thank you to those who have already 'friended' "EOS Books." My heart goes out to you.

Anywho, after a long day at work I just wanted to go home and rest. But my train rides home are never dull. Halfway through my train ride a family comes into my train car, with the usual:
"Excuse me ladies and gentlemen, my family and I are homeless and...blah-blah-blah. We sing for money, blah-blah-blah. Blaaaaaah!"
Anyway, they start jamming and by reflex I check out their clothing, to see if they're legit. I look at one of the kids' clothing and one of them had on new-like Prada sneakers.

WTF? If bums get to wear Prada, sign me up for poverty! Plus one of the kids had these hot glasses that I recently saw in American Apparel. Oh no; I was not dishing out any of my money. I love my Caramel Macchiattos too much. They were scam bums. Their outfits (almost, but not really) looked as nice as mine.

Speaking of nice outfits, I'm going to a free screening of "The Unborn" tonight.

(Yes, the life of a celebrity is never done.) I'm taking Devin as my guest. I'm so excited to be scared sh%^less! It takes me awhile to get over scary movies. Since it's Jan 8th, I'll probably still be scared until (hmmmmmmm) early February lol. Yeah, it's that real. OMG! Speaking of real,

""

premiered last night. I was so tired that I was falling asleep during the hour-long episode. The first episode was "okay" but the season looks like it's going be phenomenal. By the way, I'm so glad they have an articulate, attractive and educated A-A on the show. Woooohuh! Go A-A's!
(For those new to the acronym, "A-A's" are African-Americans. Gosh...lol)

On other notes, I'd like to take time to thank everyone who has been commenting and reading my blog. Without you guys this would be a sassy waste of space on the Internet.

You guys don't know how much I appreciate you.

With that being said let's get to the quote of the day, Jan 8th:

"Always carry yourself with poise because it makes you more memorable than others. Be civil and classy. (And guess what?) More people notice you than you think."

I just finished my Caramel Macchiato and it just started my engines. It's time to work! I wish you the best of happiness. Stay true duckies.

Wrapping Salmon

Hey there beauties!  Today was an amazing day.  I started it off with a grande

Caramel Macchiato
(with room for milk) from Starbucks and my day was smooth sailing from then on.  I actually got to edit a manuscript that's coming out in Fall 2009.  It has some intense material.  What makes it even better is there was sassy dialogue and cursing in it; my two favorites!
Anyway, after work Nick called me and we went out to a restaurant .  It was fabulous (his words exactly).  The salmon was divine...but the spinach (I hate spinach if its not creamed) was anything but.  I think the flame that was once doused between us is starting to pick up speed.  He reminds me of Big from Sex and the City; we've been through so much but over time we tend to gravitate toward each other.

Anywho, I'm a dumb ass...well at least for today.  I was wrapping gifts for my family in the living room, making sure I had the chain on the main entrance door so no one would catch me.  So I finish wrapping my supervisor's gift (the Burberry Teddy Bear I got Saturday) and I was so busy trying to put my Mom''s gift away before she got home...that I left my Dad's gift, out in the open!!!  He came in and everything was fine.  It wasn't until he got up and saw it, saying:
"This is a nice hat.  Whose hat is this?"
I was floored.  I forgot I had his gift out in the open.  I couldn't even hide my expression.  My jaw dropped and my eyes went wide.  He read my face and instantly knew it was soon to be his.  I just reacted saying:
"Merry Christmas."
(When he was wasn't looking I wrapped the hat and put it with the other gifts lol...I'm a sassy lil' devil.)

Ugh...I think I'm going to have to get him another gift to make up for my absent-mindedness.  It's such a nice hat too.  It's a royal blue North Face skully-hat.
(I couldn't find a picture of a royal blue hat lol.)
Hey, it's just another reason for me to go shopping.  With that being said, let's get to the quote of the day for Dec. 23rd:

"Don't be intimidated by those who are more 'accomplished' than you.  Stay focused and your success will come.  And remember...they were once in your shoes."

I have to go finish wrapping gifts for my family before I go to bed, since they're all sleeping now.  I wish you the best of happiness.  Stay true pretties.

Gabriel Anderson
