The Hobo Wears Prada

Good morning duckies. Sorry that this blog is being posted late. Yesterday I didn't get my daily Starbucks fix so I was tiiiiired. I was falling asleep at my desk and when I got home...I was a Wii zombie. Anywho, these recent Dunkin' Donuts commercials are pissing me off.

From what I've seen just about every morning, more people prefer Starbucks over Shunkin' Donuts. (You know you got the joke!) I love the warm, roasted coffee bean flavor that Starbucks provides. It makes me so toasty and euphoric in the morning. Anyway, let's get to yesterday's topics!

As said before I didn't have my daily Starbucks fix so my coordination was off. In the kitchen area I was conversing with someone in our production department (having a good ol' time) but then someone came behind me. I moved out of her way (because she was holding a mug of hot water) and I accidentally bumped into a pile of empty water cooler jugs.

How embarrassing?! I don't think anybody cared that I bumped into them but I was so ashamed. It made such a loud noise. I'm surprised no one ran out of their office panicking lol. Even though my coordination was off, my work ethic wasn't affected.

Yesterday I was given a project: to create a Facebook page for my department, "Eos Books." (Add "EOS Books" as a friend on Facebook so you can see my hard work.)

They thought it would take me a couple days to create but I did it all in one day. I was so proud of myself. And I felt sooooo good when everyone complimented me on my efficiency and within minutes most of the department added "EOS Books" as a friend on Facebook. (Thank you to those who have already 'friended' "EOS Books." My heart goes out to you.

Anywho, after a long day at work I just wanted to go home and rest. But my train rides home are never dull. Halfway through my train ride a family comes into my train car, with the usual:
"Excuse me ladies and gentlemen, my family and I are homeless and...blah-blah-blah. We sing for money, blah-blah-blah. Blaaaaaah!"
Anyway, they start jamming and by reflex I check out their clothing, to see if they're legit. I look at one of the kids' clothing and one of them had on new-like Prada sneakers.

WTF? If bums get to wear Prada, sign me up for poverty! Plus one of the kids had these hot glasses that I recently saw in American Apparel. Oh no; I was not dishing out any of my money. I love my Caramel Macchiattos too much. They were scam bums. Their outfits (almost, but not really) looked as nice as mine.

Speaking of nice outfits, I'm going to a free screening of "The Unborn" tonight.

(Yes, the life of a celebrity is never done.) I'm taking Devin as my guest. I'm so excited to be scared sh%^less! It takes me awhile to get over scary movies. Since it's Jan 8th, I'll probably still be scared until (hmmmmmmm) early February lol. Yeah, it's that real. OMG! Speaking of real,

""

premiered last night. I was so tired that I was falling asleep during the hour-long episode. The first episode was "okay" but the season looks like it's going be phenomenal. By the way, I'm so glad they have an articulate, attractive and educated A-A on the show. Woooohuh! Go A-A's!
(For those new to the acronym, "A-A's" are African-Americans. Gosh...lol)

On other notes, I'd like to take time to thank everyone who has been commenting and reading my blog. Without you guys this would be a sassy waste of space on the Internet.

You guys don't know how much I appreciate you.

With that being said let's get to the quote of the day, Jan 8th:

"Always carry yourself with poise because it makes you more memorable than others. Be civil and classy. (And guess what?) More people notice you than you think."

I just finished my Caramel Macchiato and it just started my engines. It's time to work! I wish you the best of happiness. Stay true duckies.

I'm A 'Graight' Guy

Evening duckies. Today was the total opposite of yesterday, at work. I had to complete nine contracts for authors and record all the pertinent information. I was on a roll though. I couldn't believe I completed nine contracts (all that were issued to me) on my first day of dealing with them. Tomorrow I think we're going to have a meeting...where I'm going to share my "fresh" ideas for better promotion of the company and the EOS website.
(Here's the link: http://outofthiseos.typepad.com/)
Yaaaaay life! Oh! I met Jocelynn Drake today too. She's a new HarperCollins author.

(This is the cover of her first book, "Nightwalker.")
She is so nice. And she is breath-taking. Yaaaaay! I love when I meet fellow celebrities.

Anywho I've been keeping up with my diet. Well today I had a cupcake so I worked out until my light green shirt was near black. I'll be fine lol. My celebrity inspiration has to be Josh from Drake & Josh on Nickelodeon. He went from...

WAM!

to

Woooohuh!

Whenever I see something in the way of my "I'm-not-gonna-look-fat-in-my-21st-birthday-pictures" diet, I think of Josh's transformation. I was jamming and exercising. Plus Gabriella was hysterical when she saw me do an interpretive dance to Beyonce's "Scared of Lonely." It was very entertaining...and loud (because Granny B started banging on her ceiling).

I was all over the place...just how my mind was on the train.
I think I saw one of my old best friends on the outside of my train. Unfortunately the train doors closed before I even had the chance to call him. Seeing Troy (that's his name) running around in the train station made me miss the times we used to do that. I miss the feeling of having a true-blue, ride or die best friend. It seems like Aaron and I are no longer. We haven't spoken since midnight of New Years. I guess I'm gonna have to get a new best friend because 2009 is too divine to be "bestfriendless."

With my current situation I want to get a reality show. It'll be called Gabriel & Friends. I need a new best friend! Ahhhhhhhhh! Speaking of something new, in addition to the quote of the day I would like to incorporate "Word of the Week" into my blog. It'll be an original word I create. Plus I give you permission to use it. (Most likely people won't know what you're talking about...which is sooooo much fun lol. )

This week's "Word of the week" is:
Graight - (meaning) a mixture of homosexual and heterosexual acts; a state of sexual confusion; deeply abnormal affection for one of the same sex.
Ex: "Oh yeah man, I love that new show "Bromance." But that episode when they were in the hot tub for elimination was too graight for me."

Along with that fabulous new word, I shall share with you the quote of the day (Jan 7th):

"You are your toughest critic and you have more influence on your self-esteem than you think. Look in the mirror today (naked) and love yourself. Without you there would be one less sexy duckie."

I am growing tired. Contracts, cardio and cupcakes take a lot out of me lol. I wish you the best of happiness. Stay true duckies.
